Sage Moves to Solidify Position

Synopsis

Sage Software (www.sage.com) has built an enviable position in the SMB market for several reasons.  First, the company offers a wide range of CRM products under the SageCRM umbrella including ACT! and ACT! for Work Groups, SageCRM.com (formerly ACCPAC) and an on premises version is also available, and SageCRM SalesLogix.  In addition, the company offers an array of accounting solutions that parallel the CRM line including PeachTree Accounting and the MAS family of solutions.  But most importantly, Sage has the largest dedicated group of resellers in the industry focused on delivering tailored solutions to SMB customers in very specialized markets.  Other vendors have tried to emulate Sage’s approach but so far the company has maintained its leadership position.  Recently the company brought on industry veteran Dave Batt to run the CRM organization and he has made several well received innovations designed to consolidate global support activities for things like localization.  For the SMB market Sage continues to be an attractive partner and the company shows signs it might move more aggressively up market.
