Denis Pombriant, Founder, Managing Principal Denis Pombriant founded Beagle Research in 2004 and has held research and management positions in the CRM analyst community for more than eight years. His research calendar includes projects in sales enhancement, the call center, application platforms and other topics at the forefront of the front office industry. He publishes regularly in these pages and our blog as well as at CRM Magazine and CRMBuyer.com As a recognized CRM thought leader, Pombriant’s analysis of the CRM market has resulted in numerous insights. Beginning in 2000 he studied the CRM hosting industry and he was an early advocate of the business model. In 2003 he conducted significant new research in hosting and discovered a tipping point in user acceptance of the hosting model during the first half of 2003 that has led to rapid expansion in the industry. Pombriant has led numerous research efforts and has authored — both independently and with others — major research reports on relevant CRM topics including hosting, CRM in the insurance industry, several spending and satisfaction surveys, and best practices reports. In 2005 Pombriant instituted the WizKids award and annual report in which Beagle Research identifies promising new companies and their business solutions. The WizKids Index is an outgrowth of the report and the index is updated frequently to keep readers abreast of the emerging front office market. Pombriant pursues an active research calendar and is currently investigating new business models in the call center and the impact of hosted platform technologies on the front office.
